News for Extreme Mutt Makeover

Dogs destined to live, or more likely, die in a North Texas animal shelter will now receive a new "leash" on life as the Mustang Heritage Foundation (MHF) and the North Texas Humane Society team up again in 2011 to host the third annual Extreme Mutt Makeover.
Local trainer, Traci Murdock, CPDT-KA, recently began working with Dakota, a delightful fluffy mix, who was waiting for a home at the Humane Society of North Texas. All of the dogs selected for the 2010 Extreme Mutt Makeover competition were pulled from a kill shelter days before they were scheduled to be euthanized.
The Extreme Mutt Makeover will be held September 16-17, 2011 in Fort Worth, Texas. Trainers will train their dogs for eight weeks and return to compete for cash and prizes. The competition will demonstrate basic obedience skills and any special talents or relationship the trainer has developed with the dog.
A special freestyle event for the top 5 contenders will be showcased during the final performance. All dogs will be available for adoption.
Contact Traci at TAMIam@training-spot.net to book special appearances.

None have any formal training. Each was chosen from shelters and rescue groups across North Texas by HSNT evaluators , and now each one will be given a new leash on life and a chance to be chosen “top dog” at Extreme Mutt Makeover 2011.
