Find out if you and your dog have the potential to make a good therapy dog team. Being a therapy dog volunteer means you will provide a service of love and support to those who cannot have their pets in their current environment, like a nursing home or hospital. This workshop will put you and your dog through the exercises required for therapy dog testing. You will be provided with feedback on the possibilities. You and your dog will be introduced to a variety of situations that simulate a visit to a facility where therapy dogs are needed. Problem solving in these situations will be addressed as well as legal aspects. At the end of the workshop the dog and handler will be evaluated.
